Latest Shoots

Well, we are back from vacation and what a great one it was!! It was a nice break, but I am ready to get back to taking some pictures! I actually have had one shoot since I have been back and will post pictures very soon, but wanted to post a couple that I have done in the last few weeks. The first one is an engagement session that I did with my sister-in-law and her fiancee while in California (see - I did some work that week). They are getting married in November and I wish them all the best. These are just a few of my favorites and they were taken around the hotel we all stayed at in Anaheim - we all loved how lush and beautifully landscaped it was there.

They make such a gorgeous couple, don't they? Thank you guys for allowing me to capture this extra-special moment in your lives. Look forward to seeing you in a few weeks!!

These next photos are ones I did of our niece from Washington while she was here in NM visiting. Since we don't see her but maybe once every couple of years (although I hope that changes now), I don't have a lot of pictures of her and was excited to take her. We went to one of my favorite locations and she was a great model. It really seemed like she was enjoying herself, too, which shows in the pictures. She sat with me that night as I edited them, and was really pleased with all of them, which says a lot coming from an 11 year old girl!! Here are a few of my favorites, although I liked them all, too! I know - she is our niece so I am a little biased!!

Coming up this week, I have been asked to take pictures of the 4-H and FFA members at the local county fair, with their prize-winning horses, dairy cows, steers, goats, pigs and sheep! I remember having my own picture taken with my pigs and sheep when I was growing up and am excited to be on the other side of the camera! Should be quite the experience!!
I am also gearing up for some senior shoots in the near future. Please call soon to book - special discount if you book before the end of August!!

An Engagement!

Hello! Yes - I am finally updating this blog after a few months of nothing! I am sorry I haven't been keeping up on it, but I have been busy both with my business and with family stuff. I have lots of photos I want to share with you all, though, so bare with me!
I am going to do them in groups and the first was a session I did for my cousin and her fiancee for their engagement. I really had fun on this shoot! For one, I hadn't seen my cousin in quite a while and I really was excited that she called and asked me to capture this exciting time in their lives. Second, you could really tell they were in love! They were so cute sneaking kisses here and there and giggling! I am very happy for them and wish them nothing but the best!

Sports

After shooting 3 different soccer teams (ours twice) last season, I got to try my hand at t-ball pictures early this summer. I really enjoyed it! I, of course, did our team, the Mariners, and here are 3 pictures showing each of the different poses I used:
I was also asked by a college-friend of ours, who was coaching a different team to do their pictures as well. Here is a fun team picture I did - it was definitely the most popular!

Families

In June, I helped my mom throw a 35th Anniversary Party for my grandparents. Since it is such a big family and most everyone was there, I was asked to do some family pictures. This one of my Aunt and Uncle with their grandbaby was by far my favorite!!

also was asked by some friends from church to do a family picture with their new baby girl. It must have been too early for her because we couldn't get any smiles (one at the very end) but she sure is a pretty little girl! They are a beautiful family, huh? They want some individual pictures of her too, and I look forward to doing those sometime in the future.

A Grad

This was a fun shoot for me - I really love to take senior pictures. She and her mom just wanted cap and gown pics, but I enjoyed taking pics of a red cap and gown because I am so used to black! It was a nice change. She was a very photogenic girl and I wish her the best of luck in college this Fall.

I am beginning to get calls from the Class of 2009. If you know of anyone who will be graduating next May, tell them to give me a call. I am running a special right now for those who book a shoot for August!

Children

I was excited when I was asked to do some headshots of the little girl below for the Southern NM State Fair and Rodeo Queen Contest. She is running for PeeWee Princess and I wish her the best of luck. "Little B" is a friend of Colton's from school, 4-H, and she joined us for t-ball this last season. Adorable, isn't she? I did pictures for one of the Rodeo Queen contestants last year (she won!) and was hoping to get to do some more this year. Thanks to her family for asking me!

And, of course, this next one should be a familiar face to most of you. This was my favorite shot from some photos I took of her for her 3rd Birthday. She is starting to be a little more cooperative when it comes to pictures, finally, although it can still be hit or miss a lot of the time. I was happy to capture both her sweet side and her silly side during this shoot (this was one of the sweet ones).

Babies!!

Oh, how I love taking pictures of babies!
The little guy below, Baby H, was the youngest baby I have ever photographed, not counting my own, of course. He was just barely over 4 weeks and belongs to the brother of my best friend! I am excited to say that they have asked me to do his pictures every month for his first 6 months of life. He started out sleeping and that actually felt very different for me to just be able to snap away at him and not worry about tears, crying, eyes closed, etc. When he woke up, I was excited for the smiles he was giving me at such a young age! What a little doll, huh?

I am also following this little guy, Baby D, and doing a shoot with him every 2 months. Here is one of his 4 month pics - he was feeling very patriotic that day! I had a lot of fun with him and look forward to his 6 month portraits, although I can't believe he is already almost 5 months!!
Just look at those gorgeous blue eyes!
