Pre-Birthday Shoot with Cady

So far, the most challenging photo shoots have been those with my own kids. Especially Cady, who I took out yesterday evening to try and get some pre-birthday pictures. Thanks to help from Colin and Colton (they sure are good at acting silly), I think it was successful. We cannot believe that she is going to be 2 in a couple of weeks! Enjoy these pictures of our funny little girl.

First Maternity Shoot

A friend of mine who is expecting a new son any day now asked me if I would do maternity pictures of her and of course I jumped at the chance! We did the pictures at her house in their sunroom and it was so much fun! Her husband and sons were great sports, too. Here are some of my favorites:

A Delightful Family

I had another family shoot over this past weekend and it was so much fun. They are the family of a co-worker, who live in Ohio and were in town for a visit. The little boys were great sports and the beautiful yard belongs to their great-grandparents.

Thank you to all of you who have checked out my blog and website in the past week and thank you for all the kind and supportive emails. I am so excited and thankful that everything is falling into place. I have my first maternity shoot with a good friend this weekend and I am really looking forward to that! I will let you all know how it goes.

My 1st Senior Shoot!

Not only was this my first senior shoot, but this was also my first photo shoot where I didn't know my subject beforehand! I was recommended to her by a friend's dad (thanks, Mr. Boone) and we did the shoot at her aunt's home, which was beautiful. It also had sentimental value because she spent a lot of time there growing up. She, too, was very photogenic and it was a pleasure doing her pictures! Both her and her mother were very nice and even asked me take some mother/daughter pics, which was fun. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

One last thing, off the topic of photography, Happy 10th Anniversary to my wonderful husband, Colin. I love you lots and I can't believe it has been 10 years! I guess time really does fly when you are having fun!

My First Couple Shoot!

The following pictures are some of my favorites from a shoot I did this past Saturday - my first couple shoot! Sarah is a co-worker of mine as well as a good friend and one of my biggest supporters. We held the shoot at the university and they were great sports. It didn't hurt that they make a gorgeous couple and were both very photogenic! I look forward to doing more shoots with them in the future.

Also, many of you have asked me about business cards, and I am excited to report that I ordered my first ones yesterday! They should be here towards the end of the month.

I have been thinking about starting a blog for quite a while now, and for some reason today seemed like the right time to do it! There are a couple of purposes I have in mind for this blog. First of all, those of you that know me well, know that I love taking pictures and sharing them. I will start posting my favorites here, which will keep my frequent emails from filling up your in-boxes. I will also be using this as I am starting my photography business, to inform everyone of specials, promotions, updates, and some of my favorite photos from each shoot that I do. I welcome comments, so please leave some from time to time! My business is getting off to a great start - thank you to all of you who have helped me, including those who have prayed for me, those who have been helping me build my portfolio, and all of you who have shown me any kind of support! I appreciate it all and am very excited to be doing something I enjoy so much.
