A Grad

This was a fun shoot for me - I really love to take senior pictures. She and her mom just wanted cap and gown pics, but I enjoyed taking pics of a red cap and gown because I am so used to black! It was a nice change. She was a very photogenic girl and I wish her the best of luck in college this Fall.

I am beginning to get calls from the Class of 2009. If you know of anyone who will be graduating next May, tell them to give me a call. I am running a special right now for those who book a shoot for August!

Children

I was excited when I was asked to do some headshots of the little girl below for the Southern NM State Fair and Rodeo Queen Contest. She is running for PeeWee Princess and I wish her the best of luck. "Little B" is a friend of Colton's from school, 4-H, and she joined us for t-ball this last season. Adorable, isn't she? I did pictures for one of the Rodeo Queen contestants last year (she won!) and was hoping to get to do some more this year. Thanks to her family for asking me!

And, of course, this next one should be a familiar face to most of you. This was my favorite shot from some photos I took of her for her 3rd Birthday. She is starting to be a little more cooperative when it comes to pictures, finally, although it can still be hit or miss a lot of the time. I was happy to capture both her sweet side and her silly side during this shoot (this was one of the sweet ones).

Babies!!

Oh, how I love taking pictures of babies!
The little guy below, Baby H, was the youngest baby I have ever photographed, not counting my own, of course. He was just barely over 4 weeks and belongs to the brother of my best friend! I am excited to say that they have asked me to do his pictures every month for his first 6 months of life. He started out sleeping and that actually felt very different for me to just be able to snap away at him and not worry about tears, crying, eyes closed, etc. When he woke up, I was excited for the smiles he was giving me at such a young age! What a little doll, huh?

I am also following this little guy, Baby D, and doing a shoot with him every 2 months. Here is one of his 4 month pics - he was feeling very patriotic that day! I had a lot of fun with him and look forward to his 6 month portraits, although I can't believe he is already almost 5 months!!
Just look at those gorgeous blue eyes!

More Maternity Pics!

Here is a sneak peak for some friends of mine who asked me to do some maternity pics for them. Little Caden is due anyday now, and I guess, possibly could have come over the long weekend. I really enjoyed doing this shoot. You can see the love and excitement in their faces. Thanks, "J & D" for asking me to help you preserve this exciting time in your lives! I look forward to meeting Caden and taking pictures of him in the future!

1st Baby Shoot of 2008

I was honored when a good friend of mine asked me to take pictures of her brand new baby boy! Baby "D" is such a little cutie and I had a lot of fun!! I look forward to more shoots with him as he grows.

Here is a tiny "sneak peak" for his mama, who I thank for being so patient with me during the computer problems I experienced immediately following this shoot!! The first one is my favorite so far. Can't wait to get the rest edited!!

My 1st Shoot of Spring

Spring is finally here and I had my first shoot of the season today! This was a repeat customer which, to me, is the best compliment I could receive. We did a senior session this past Fall, but she contacted me a couple of weeks ago about doing some more pictures for her and I was happy to oblige. She is very photogenic - one of those whom posing just seems to come natural. It felt great to take photos of someone besides Cady and Colton (although I won't be slowing down on their photos anytime soon).

I wanted to post a few pictures from today and give her and her family a little "sneak peak"! Hope they enjoy them!

A Fun Shoot with a Large Family!

Hello! I know I said I would keep this updated more this year, but I started a family blog, too, and have been trying to get that just the way I like it. I think it is finished now! Feel free to check it out at http://mcvaughmoments.blogspot.com/.

In my last post, I said I would get pictures posted from the shoots I have done so far in 2008. Here is the first one. Technically, it was shot in 2007 (day after Christmas), but by the time I had them edited and everything, it was definitely the new year!

The matriarch of this family contacted me in November about taking family pictures around Christmas while all of her children and grandchildren were in town. Not only did she want pictures of the couples and different family units, but she wanted a large family photo of everyone - 15 in all. I was a little nervous, as this was the largest group I had ever done, but as with any shoot, very excited, too. Other than it being extremely cold outside (hence some of the rosy cheeks and noses) I think it went very well. All the children were very easy to work with and I had a lot of fun! Thank you to this family for allowing me to capture these precious memories for them!
